Collection / Our Lady
The Assumption
Taken up body and soul into heaven, eyes raised, three cherubs at prayer on the clouds.
About this statue
At the end of her life on earth, Mary was taken up body and soul into heaven. Pope Pius XII defined the Assumption in 1950, and her feast falls on 15 August.
Ours looks up to heaven with her hands on her heart. Her cream robe is scattered with gold stars under a starry blue mantle, and three cherubs kneel in prayer on the clouds at her feet. We also make her with angels, with her arms open wide, or crowned with stars.
She suits a church named for the Assumption, a high altar, a Marian shrine or the August feast procession. We have made the Assumption with angels for Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Bangalore.
