We will reply with photographs, options and a quotation.
How does ordering work?
Send us the form or a WhatsApp message: which statue, roughly how large, and where it will stand. We reply with photographs, the options and a quotation, with a timeline based on our order book. Every statue is made by hand from scratch and orders are taken first come, first served, so book early to keep your place. A 50% deposit confirms your order and secures your place in the queue. The balance is paid before dispatch.
Can you make a statue that is not in your collection?
Yes. The collection shows our best-loved statues, but we can make any saint or title of Our Lord and Our Lady. Send us a photograph or a holy card and we will model a new statue from it. Our 9-foot Our Lady of Consolata in Nairobi was made from a photograph sent by email.
Can we change the design?
Yes. Choose a pose from our photographs, and we can combine the face and details of different designs and paint the statue in the colours you prefer.
Can you make a statue or bust of our founder?
Yes. We model portrait statues and busts from photographs: founders of schools and congregations, bishops, priests and family members. We have made life-size statues and busts of Msgr R. F. C. Mascarenhas for Bethany schools across India.
Why fibreglass?
Fibreglass (FRP) is strong and far lighter than stone, so even a large statue can be moved, raised onto a church front or carried in procession. It does not rust or rot, and it holds paint well, indoors and out.
Can a statue stand outdoors?
Yes. Outdoor statues are made with UV-resistant resin to stand up to sun and rain. Natural colours can fade outdoors, so we suggest a single-colour finish with shading, such as white, silver, bronze or gold: it is easier to look after and stays fresh for longer through sun and monsoon. We can paint an outdoor statue in natural colours if you prefer, but it will need more upkeep. On the form, choose outdoors if sunlight will fall on the statue at any time of day, even inside a grotto.
What sizes do you make?
Ready-made: smaller statues of 18 inches and under, and crucifixes of 2 ft and 3½ ft. Everything else is made to order, from 30 inches upwards. Reliefs are made to order from 48 inches upwards. Heights are measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the head or crown. A halo is quoted separately.
How much does a statue cost?
It depends on the size, the finish and the detail. Tell us the statue, roughly how large, and where it will stand, and we will reply with photographs, options and a quotation. The price covers the statue itself; transport and installation are separate. Quotations are valid for 15 days, as material costs can change.
How long does it take?
Every statue is made by hand from scratch, so there is no fixed time. We give a timeline with the quotation, based on our order book, and orders are taken first come, first served. For a feast day or an inauguration, book early.
Do you deliver?
You can collect your statue from the studio in Mangalore, or we send it by road anywhere in India, packed for the journey. Outside India, ask us about delivery to your country. We can arrange a transporter for you; you pay them directly on delivery. Basic packing is free, and a wooden crate is available for a small charge.
Is a statue difficult to install?
No. A fibreglass statue is light and made in a single piece, so it can usually be fixed in place with a few drilled holes and screws or anchor bolts. Outdoor statues come with installation brackets, already drilled, so anyone with a drilling machine can fix them. If you would like us to install it, ask us.
Can you repair or repaint an old statue?
Yes. We restore and repaint statues, crucifixes and Stations of the Cross. Send us photographs of the piece and we will tell you what can be done.
Do you make altars and whole sanctuaries?
Yes: high altars, marble altar tables and ambos, Stations of the Cross, murals and reliefs, designed for your church. See our church projects →
Can we visit the studio?
Yes, you are welcome to visit, Monday to Saturday, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm; we close for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, and on Sundays. For a consultation, please book an appointment first: a phone call is all it takes.
